A true star, Patrick Fiori has had a busy schedule this year. Before returning to his red armchair in The Voice Kids 2023, the 53 year old singer released an album in tribute to Corsica, Message Message 2. Soon, he will indeed perform in Paris alongside his artist friends before the Zénith tour in 2024.
For the promotion of his concert at La Défense Arena, the singer was guest on Télématin on August 30. During his visit, he notably looked back on the highlights of his career. At the request of Thomas Sotto, Patrick Fiori spoke of his meeting with Dalida. An unforgettable moment in his career.
Patrick Fiori’s blunder while on tour
Guest on the set of Telematin, Patrick Fiori had a very nice surprise. In fact, presenter Thomas Sotto and his sidekick Marie Portolano called one of the artist’s sound engineers. The latter, called Serge Veneruso, seemed to have scores to settle with the singer.
“How could you (…) forget me on a vague highway rest area at 3 a.m.? », he says through a video.
Hilariously, Patrick Fiori started to tell an anecdote about his big mistake during a tour. The coach of The Voice Kids would have forgot your sound engineer on a highway rest area in the middle of the night.
“We were a little burnt out, concert after concert, it’s a world that moves in the middle of the night…” pleads the one who participated in Eurovision in 1993.

He remembers that their bus stopped at a gas station and when it was time to get back on, someone missed the call. The manager Didier Rouge called Serge’s name, but no one answered.
“The problem was that we had driven more than 2 hours (…) we turned around on the highway, but with a big tour bus, it’s not easy so we got it back a few hours later,” explained Patrick Fiori.
Fortunately for Serge, the La Grande Sophie Bus kept him company. It would have been terrible to finding yourself alone waiting for long hours before their bus picks him up.
Patrick Fiori: his long interview with Dalida
During his time on TelematinPatrick Fiori especially returned to some key moments of his career. An opportunity for him to look back on his encounter with a monument of Dalida music.
This happened when he was 14 years old, during the show Sunday Clothes. This program, which consists of highlight young talentsallowed the singer to meet the great French star.
“She asked to see me. Well, when Dalida asks to see you, obviously we go,” remembers Patrick Fiori.
Kendji Girac’s friend then spoke for a long time with Dalida. At first he was in the dressing room with his father, but after talked for 30 minutesDalida would have asked for her father to go out.
“She really wanted to be private, and she told me beautiful sentences that I would keep to myself,” the singer recalled, not without emotion.
This interview with the interpreter of Words, words will remain forever engraved in the memories of Patrick Fiori. On Telematinhe revealed having received a nice compliment from the French actress.
“She told me ‘you sing like you breathe’. When you’re a young boy, it’s improbable,” confides the man who married the former Miss Rhône-Alpes, Ariane Quatrefages.
These words from Dalida were like a blessing for Patrick Fiori. These long minutes spent with the singer, in a way, allowed him to be a little more sure of himself. Today, he has in turn become a big star of French song.
His kindness has marked him until now
This was not the first time that Patrick Fiori mentioned his incredible meeting with Dalida. Indeed, in July, in the columns of Télé 7 jours, he spoke of the benevolence of the sublime artist. A proof of kindness which gave him the strength to persevere in the world of music.
“She was very clairvoyant, and even a little clairvoyant, too, about my future. (…) His words still resonate in me today,” he confided.
Patrick Fiori reserves great admiration for the singer who died in 1987. Furthermore, his fans can testify to the many times he visited Dalida on stage. He happened to cover the artist’s most beautiful titles like Like before or Speak lower.
